What's in the cup
Cruise is a medium roast built from beans grown in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Indonesia, all above 1,500 metres. That altitude gives the cherries longer to develop sugar and acidity, which is where Cruise gets its signature berry, vanilla, and milk chocolate notes. It's sweet without being one-note, and smooth enough to drink black or with milk.
Why medium roast works so well here
A medium roast strikes a balance that darker roasts don't. It holds onto more of the bean's natural sweetness and origin character, rather than roasting it away in favour of bittersweet, smoky notes. That's exactly why Cruise tastes the way it does, bright and a little fruity, with the chocolate coming through more as a soft undertone than a dominant flavour.
How to brew it
Cruise is genuinely versatile, but it shines in pour-over, where its berry and vanilla notes come through cleanest. Use a medium-fine grind, bloom the coffee for 30 seconds, then pour in slow, steady circles over about 2.5 to 3 minutes. It also holds up well over ice on a warm day, since its natural sweetness survives dilution better than a darker roast.
